The Mudkats
Semivintage
1994
Compact disc
description:pop, rock, rockabilly

DANCE, BABY DANCE! Oh yeah this baby begins with a stray cat STRUT and smokin' guitar riffs! "The Big Muddy" will have you struttin', dancin', and GROOVIN'. The rest of this CD moves in and out of covers and originals. The Mudkats are: Drummer Scotty Van Schoick, bassist/vocalist Jon Luini, and guitarist/vocalist Eric Friedmann. These cats play a mix of rock, groovy melodies, bouncy danceable rhythms, poppish catchy harmonies, and all meshed together in quick jams.

The CD continues with a fast-paced "Tic Tic Tic", danceable melodies and jams in "Back To Wonderland", and the traditional "Santiano." "Cruel Thing To Do" keeps a poppish rhythm as the band gets way down with the mellow ten-minute jam of "Raina Da Cappo Finally (or Dare To Do Nothing)." This beauty brings out smooth good feeling vibes that caress the sense and jams to keep your fanny cruisin'! The mean cowboy feeling of the bad-ass "Charlie James" is wonderful. This is one mean muther of a tune with tasty vocals, harmonies and a country/rock beat. "Smile Miss Laura" completes this CD with hard melodies and a fast paced rhythm. Check 'em out!
