Moonalice

"Moonalice Minute" short form video series

An ongoing series of music videos introducing the band members and their illustrious history

Check out our new Moonalice video series: Moonalice Minute! This series was conceived, produced, directed and edited by Chime and introduces fans to the deep history from the musicians who comprise the current 10-piece Moonalice lineup.  Videos are customized for all platforms – 16×9 for YouTube, vertical 9×16 for Instagram and Facebook stories, and without music background for TikTok so it can be loaded in directly from TikTok’s linked music library.

The series begins with vocalist Lester Chambers (joined by his son, Dylan) discussing his history with the iconic Chambers Brothers, and how they keep the group’s legacy alive through Moonalice.  The father-son duo explain why Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and The Average White Band said “no” to playing after The Chamber Brothers when they were out on the road.

Other episodes include Lester recalling introducing the cow bell into modern music and jamming with Jimi Hendrix,  drummer John Molo discussing playing music of the Grateful Dead with Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, The Other Ones as well as Moonalice, Jason Crosby reveals some lessons learned from his time playing with Jenny Lewis and Jackson Browne, and Pete Sears remembers working with Rod Stewart on the iconic Every Picture Tells A Story album and Rod’s approach to music that has stayed with him all these years.

It’s always great to work with our friend Ben Fong-Torres, who handles interviews for the series, and longtime Chime crew Chris Sentovich joined us on camera for this shoot. A special shout out to Arthur Rosato who didn’t join us on the shoot, but as Moonalice Video Director was involved in creative concepts around this, as well as another series in development with the band.
