ARHOOLIE FOUNDATION

The 2021 Arhoolie Awards were a celebration of the music and artists that make up the American culture, and featured a variety of performances, exclusive archival video footage, and more.

In February, Jon and Arhoolie’s John Leopold spent an evening with iconic bluesman Charlie Musselwhite at the Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale, Missisippi to film segments for the show. Chime captured both performance and narration, as Charlie was the host for a special program celebrating the music and musicians that are engrained in American culture.

Jon worked with Arhoolie’s John Leopold and Adam Machado for a few months, filming, directing, and editing additional segments for the event.

In Arhoolie, we find a common respect and reverence for the role music, and the musicians who are its lifeblood, have in our culture. It’s a pleasure to apply our strategy and production skills in supporting Arhoolie’s work shining a light and acknowledging players who keep this artform thriving. We can’t (or don’t want to) imagine a world without great music in it!
